Local Beaches

For drivers, or very enthusiastic cyclers

Leave town on the road which has Bone hospital on it. The highway has signs for Iksan, Gimje, and Buan.

After about 20-30 minutes, you will need to turn right toward Buan. After 25 minutes on a freeway wannabe (where motorbikes are allowed), you will enter Buan. At the second or third intersection you will see a sign for Beonsan. By now Gyokpo will be on the signs, too. Gyokpo Harbour is nice as well.

Refer to the map above, you are heading for the coast of Gochang. You will hit salt water and drive along it for 30 minutes , (passing a massive pier) until you hit a beach, with a cluster of stores. There is another one about 4km further. Gyokpo Harbour is another 5-6km.

It takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Just watch the signs, it's pretty easy.
